Full of Bees!

This blog is named “Full of Bees” for three reasons:

• a sideways homage to a favorite teacher, who first coined the phrase
• an inside joke to my friends
• a not-very-good metaphor

I won’t explain the first two reasons, and the third reason is pretty dumb – basically, if something is full of bees, it’s chaotic and alarming and beautiful and constructive, full of honey but also full of stingers – and isn’t that just like being a teacher, in a way?

The fourth, unwritten reason, is that I needed a name for a blog that hadn’t already been used, and this was all that came to mind – probably because I was having a very “full of bees” day that day.
